Scientific name Selaginella lepidophylla. Jericho Flower, Rose of Jericho or Resurrection Flower as the names suggest, seem to come to life after they die. These plants survive curled up dormant and brown, appearing to the untrained eye to be dead. However, place in water for nutrients and it will expand, turns green, springing to life and bloom before curling back up when the water is depleted.

This plant will last for many years and has given rise to the tradition of keeping one dormant, in one’s home before bringing back to life during various celebrations or transformations thought the year. Because of its properties, the false Rose of Jericho was considered a lucky charm, and was passed on in families from generation to generation. It's known in the metaphysical world to invoke love and prosperity, as well as having the ability to absorb "negative energy".
