African Black Soap is handcrafted by women in the villages of Ghana. This process begins with drying Plantain fruit skins in the sun, then the skins are roasted in a clay oven. Giving the soap it’s fine natural scent and texture. Noting drying the plantain longer results in a darker color of the end product. After the drying process the soap makers proceed to blend Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, and Palm Kernel oil with the Plantain Ash and Coco Pod Ash to get the finished product.
